Time for a ride!
A lovely early autumn sunny October day. Ideal conditions for off-road mountain biking. I took it easy today as it has been at least a month since I last cycled anywhere.
So the route took me through three parks with lakes. First up was Buchan Park, after crossing a main road. Cycling alongside the road before heading into the woods.
Buchan Park is a nice place, two lakes and lots of tracks through the forest. Today I took a quick route through past the lake. I was heading for another park via some roads.
Second destination was Tilgate Park. Another very popular place and much larger too. Again I selected a short route to keep the distance down. The route between parks took me through a dark and dingey tunnel under a main road. I don't like cycling through here because you cannot see the ground and there could be anything like glass or other obstacles. Scary! 😱
Along the way I came across what I thought was a mushroom 🍄 but on closer inspection turned out to be a golf ball! 😂
Final destination was Goffs Park. This park also has a small lake tucked away in the woods. I took a track that passes close by the lake. This is close to the town centre so is popular with dog walkers and families with young children.
I enjoyed the ride a lot and as my fitness returns I will be able to increase the distance and intensity on future rides.
