August 31 is the independence day of Malaya. You might be asking why is it NOT Malaysia. Here's a shorter form of answer. Malaya is the west peninsula consist of multiple Malaya land and occupied by different kingdom. Upon independence, there's no east Malaysia, therefore you can understand this as the United States of Malaya 🤣 I hope this helps you understand it more. There will be another time when I tell a story of how it become Malaysia. But for now, it's all about independence day, we called it Merdeka.
I didn't prepared for this shadow hunter post, but I was documenting my new under armour off season discounted shoe, and this mark my first year as a "less capable" citizen, I wish to take a photo of this super morning walk.
It was 4:45am, and I set my alarm way earlier than I usually would go for morning walk. We have a special mass in the morning to pray for the country. So, I've decided to go for a walk before going to church.
It's been half a year since my stroke. My recovery was, I wanted to say good, but I don't know how good it is. So, it's a good time for me to test out some of my ability. It felt less "pressure" to, let's just say try to do one pull up. I did about 4km walk in the ring, some sit ups. I tried the dip, but it doesn't work. Lack of strength from the triceps. As for the pull up, I can lift myself up pretty well, but the last few inches before I raise myself across the chin, I can feel the tightness and my heart started pumping. So I gave it up, save for another day. At this stage, I don't need to be a hero anymore. I don't need to prove to anyone other than myself.
I think I can never go back to my previous glorious self of 50 reps. But at this stage, I'm just grateful to still be able to do ½ a pull ups. It felt patriotic trying to improve my strength, by just not giving anymore medical spending to the country, and be more responsible to live healthier for my own family. After the morning routine, wife send us to church whilst we're listening to the radio broadcast of Merdeka special event.
