I had a bad hard drive today. The usual 3TB hard drive nowadays will only last me like 3 years, and it will start to show sign of worn and soon it's lagging and finally bad sector and spoil. Before things get out of hand, when I see symptoms of like the mouse pointer went jerking on the screen and suddenly Windows create large page files and slowing the whole system down, that could possibly be due to hard drive issue. Might not be the operating system drive, it could be any of the drive, when Windows trying to index search, any of the of hard drive having issue to spin up and load will actually slow the whole computer down. During that time, we will see the hard drive indicator keep on blinking none stop whilst the mouse pointer go freeze from one point to another.
During the backup, ofcourse as any boy would have, some favorite porn in the drive, some retro games that doesn't require windows installation, can direct copy and paste the folder and migrate it out, create a short cut dump it at desktop and we can continue to play with it. Backing up personal photos is the hardest part. Sometimes it's like knowingly some of these are totally unimportant photo, why would we keep them? Trust me, when you think of someone you wanted to remind yourself and you start digging for photo, you'll probably faintly remember you press the delete button for a folder, which contain a number of some important photo.
It happens to me also, found these photos which I have brought them from hard drive to hard drive for many years, many piece of hardware has been changed/salvaged. If I remember correctly, this was many years ago, before my girlfriend become my ex-girlfriend, that was the first time I went to Malacca in my life.
Was it important to me? I guess, if I don't see these photo, they're totally being forgotten and probably going together with the hard drive for a low level format. But since now I have seen it, feels like wanting to call upon ex-girlfriend to go for a short getaway trip with the family to this beautiful place again.
