"I'm not crying."

"Oh yeah?" He cocked an eyebrow challengingly. "So what's this?"

Her eyes darted to his raised finger that had previously cleaned off the tear staining her lashes.

The tear-droplet was still evident on the finger.

"It's not tears," she said instead and looked away.

He scoffed incredulously, feeling more frustrated than annoyed. "Hey you. . ."

"It's not." She turned to face him directly.

"Okay," He crossed his arms with a slight frown and asked, "so what is it then?"

"Just water." She shrugged.

"What's the difference?"

At that she smiled a bit, her features softened and brightened considerably which made his hands hang limply by the side, stunned at the change in expression.

"The difference is that tears hold emotion. I feel so I cry. . .but I didn't feel anything. It just rolled off my cheek."

And to that, he was left speechless in silence.
