Tonquin beach is one of many top notch beaches on Vancouver Island’s west coast. This was the first of many we had the opportunity to visit. We headed to the shoreline to frolick around (and to take pictures of course, which is always front and center in my mind). I did notice some washed up squid, and at first I thought it was just some tangled up seaweed. But taking a closer look, it was squid, and there was more than a few. It did look quite peculiar, as I have never seen this kind of thing before. Probably common though for this time of year. Apparently they get stranded in these parts do to shifting sea currents and warmer ocean temperatures. Thanks for stopping by.
