After some arduous elevation gain, and a few switchbacks, this was the first reward. Wow, what a view! Unfortunately we did not have blue skies, but you can’t win em all. This was awesome, but a slight bit cool and windy, with a smidgen of rain. Oh well. At this point we were approximately two thirds of the way to the lake. In the back of my mind I was already thinking to myself that I must do this hike again, and with any luck, bluer skies next time. Must be satisfied with the weather and enjoy the journey today. Photos taken on the Helen Lake hiking trail, Banff National Park, Alberta.
