Good day
My name is Dave Draper (not the Mr Universe from the 60’s). Over the years, I have acquired a number of skills in both sales and the construction industry. Having been unemployed for the last few months, has given me time to think about where I want to be in life, and has also rekindled my first love – Photography. I hope to be able to add value, not only to the Steem community, but also use the platform to highlight the beauty of Johannesburg as well as the plight of the many homeless, jobless and indigent people who have come here seeking a better life. Most of my postings will be photographic with a bit of video and possibly some written comment and will most likely fall into one of the following catagories:
Johannesburg (Jozi) is truly the melting pot of Africa with people from all nations converging and making their homes here. This is often reflected in the architecture and cultural traditions seen all around. I would like to showcase the city and its people to the community using a project called #JoziPics. #JoziPics will be a “dailyish” posting of interesting architecture, nature shots and people going about their business.
On the back of this, there are a number of people who, for one reason or another, are unable to find permanent employment and a lot of these people are left with little alternative, but to hustle to survive. #Steemforchange will highlight the plight of these people as well as showing some of the ingenuity required in order to survive. Part of any proceeds from this project will be used to try to assist some of those in desperate need.
#JustfortheFunofit will be postings of experimental photoshopping, photographic techniques and just general fun photographs.
I look forward to engaging with members of the Steem community and hearing any thoughts which my work may provoke.
