"You can be pitiful or you can be powerful but you can't be both at the same time"- Joyce Meyer.
If you were to choose between pity and power, which would you choose?
Take for instance, someone who has constantly been unlucky with life, going from one sad moment to another. No money, no food, no shelter, living from hand to mouth. Normally, such a person would withdraw from the outside world and constantly be in self pity. It will take a special grace and strength for such a person to get through each passing day without having suicidal thoughts.
I've seen people in such conditions and still get out of it. They got out of it because they stopped having pity for themselves and took the bull by the horns. They chose power and left pity. It surely wasn't as easy for them as it is for me writing it here. It took them a lot of effort. They struggled to overcome and they did overcome.
I don't know why I'm writing about this tonight after a long time of me writing here but I believe it's for a purpose. I believe it's for someone to read and feel encouraged and I hope someone reads gets encouraged by this.
"Self pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything good in the world"- Helen Keller.
Thank you for reading and have a blessed week ahead.
