Have you ever been to any market before where you have to negotiate the price of the product with the seller before buying? If yes, do you think the first price the seller tells you the first time is the ideal and correct price he/she is willing to sell? I don't think so.

I noticed a very long time ago, the trick these sellers use when they want you, the buyer, to pay the exact price they have in mind for their goods. What they do is mention a price way higher or a bit higher than the exact price they wouldn't want you to go below. For instance, you want to buy a cut of meat in any market I Nigeria. The price the meat seller won't want to go below is NGN300. He will tell you that same cut of meat is NGN500 hoping that whatever you will want to pay is between NGN300 and NGN500. So you're left with your bargaining skills and conscience to know how much you should pay for the meat.

If you are now familiar with this skill, you would know what to do. You would know that since the seller has gone way higher, you would go lower until the both of you (buyer and seller) agree on a favourable amount. After this, both buyer and seller will be happy. It's as easy as that.

So steemains, sharpen your negotiation skills to avoid being cheated wherever you may find yourself.
