My city is filled with colonial architecture, a relic of history in destruction, nobody remembers the time when the Spaniards arrived in Cuba and began to build a society that still leaves memories in this place.
A paradoxical contrast is seen in the streets, people dressed in current fashion using modern technologies amid such ancient constructions, it seems that civil engineering stopped in my country's history and that's how Cuba is.
It might seem interesting for a photographer to capture this history in their photos, but it saddens me, to see how I have been born and raised in the colonial era without progressing in history, without keeping up with the world, with transportation means as old as I don't know what.

Mi ciudad está colmada de arquitectura colonial, una reliquia de la historia en destrucción, nadie recuerda la época en que los españoles llegaron a Cuba y empezaron a construir una sociedad que aun deja recuerdos en este lugar.
Un contraste paradójico se ve en las calles, personas vestidas de la moda actual usando tecnologías modernas en medio de construcciones tan antigua, pareciera que la ingeniería civil se detuvo en la historia de mi país y es que Cuba es así.
Pudiera parecer interesante para un fotógrafo dejar plasmado esta historia en sus fotos, pero a mí me entristece, ver como he nacido y me he criado en la época de la colonia sin avanzar en la historia, sin estar a la par del mundo, con medios de transporte tan antiguos como no sé qué.
