It's very exciting to make this post about Splinterlands, as I think we will be mentioning very personal opinions or anecdotes. It's interesting, in the fact that we will not only talk about the battles, but also in this way we can show our commitment to the community.

How did you hear about Splinterlands?

Three years ago, I could see a Splinterlands post, but at that time I didn't know about the game. Then I started to feel attracted by NFT games, and while researching on the web, I saw several times the name Splinterlands. From that moment on, I remembered that the project was on Hive Blockchain. That was a reason to encourage me, as I had previously tried other games like PVU or Axie Infinity, but Splinterlands is different, as the game is more stable than other games and I could have more control over my NFT. That pushed me to start Splinterlands.

How long have you been a part of Splinterlands? Are you a seasoned veteran or a recent addition to this fascinating realm?

According to the start date in the game, it was July 2021, but at that time, besides investing the 10 dollars for the spell book, I also invested like 30 or 50 dollars in cards, but at that time I didn't know anything, so I bought the cards for a high price and I didn't have any strategy.

Then, by mistake, I burned some cards, at that time, I didn't dedicate so much time to it and stopped playing for some months. Until the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022 I was encouraged, and I started playing again. Since then, I haven't stopped playing.

I consider myself a regular player, and today, with an intermediate level, I usually play in the silver league, but I have many aspirations.

Does it consume an important part of your day, or do you balance it with other activities?

Normally it does consume part of my day, either for weekly rentals, approximately 30 minutes; analyzing statistics on a weekly basis, from 1 hour to 3 hours; or playing the game, the time can vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour and a half, depending on the amount of battles available or that I can buy. The daily total can be 1.5 to 2 hours per day, at certain times, the time can be longer.

What have you achieved in Splinterlands?

For me, the biggest achievement is learning. I have played tournaments, clan brawls; for me, the most exciting thing is getting good rewards, mainly cards, SPS tokens, or Chaos Legion packs, but I still don't think I have an outstanding achievement. But I'm sure that will change soon.

What are your aspirations within Splinterlands?

For a long time, I have been playing normally in the Silver League. I have been able to get enough rating points to get into the gold league, but I decided to stay in silver. At the moment, my biggest aspiration is to get into the Gold League, so I can improve my rewards, I am currently close to achieving the goal of getting into the Gold League, so it is very likely that next season my rewards will be in the same category.

alt

Also, my biggest wish is to improve my pack of cards, because previously it cost 25 dollars and my investment was higher, but due to the devaluation and mistakes I made, this caused the value of my deck to devaluate exaggeratedly. In the following weeks, I will strengthen my collection with cards from the new edition.

alt

What advice would you give to beginners, based on your experience?

My advice is that by practicing, they can learn how to play, so they can create a strategy, and in that way it will be possible to know which cards you are going to rent or buy. I also recommend learning how to use the tools associated with the game.

alt

Finally, I consider that Splinterlands should be seen as a long-term investment game; that is, the ideal is to have patience and accumulate tokens and cards; this benefits all of us, both players and the project.
