After the arctic blast, a lot of snow melted as it got rather warm yesterday, but last night we had temperatures of minus -6, so what snow was left iced over still leaving that winter wonderland look.
I was in two minds where to go this morning, but having listening to the news, it sounded a bit risky getting over to the peak district as the roads were still quite icey this morning, so I decided to stay local and try and get a shot that I've been after for a while of Wentworth All Saints Church.
It was a lovely drive up to Wentworth this morning, the roads were pretty clear, the sun was out, and the surreal look of the landscape still covered in snow was beautiful.
As I walked from the car to the location I needed to be, all I could hear was snow crunching under each step, and the sounds of birds was beautiful, with the sounds of pigeons, jackdaws, crows and numerous other types of birds, this is something I love to hear especially when the weather gets warmer.
I was on my toes while taking these shots due to the amount of birds around, I didn't want any of those swooping down on the drone, nor did I want to disturb them too much keeping a good distance and an eye on the drone at all times.
(One from 400 feet, I don't usually go this high, but I thought I would on this occasion).
I didn't stay too long as my hands started to get a bit cold and more and more people decided to go for a walk near the church, happy with the shots I got, I then packed up my things and thought I'd go for a lovely breakfast.
I ended up at one of my favourite albeit expensive garden centres and thought I'd try their breakfasts, I'd had them in the past but that was ages ago and quite fancied another.
The breakfast was lovely, although it was over £12 for that and a coffee, it's certainly not one I'll be having on a regular basis, but from time to time, it's worth it.
I really hope that you've enjoyed my snowy adventure from today, this afternoon has been forecast for rain and sleet, so having an easy day today before going back to work tomorrow.
