I do like to get out on my days off from work, although it has been a bit hit and miss over the passed couple of days due to the weather (yes, the good old British weather).
I didn't go anywhere yesterday other than my usual haunts for a coffee, but I wanted to at least do something before I head back to work tomorrow.
I've recently joined the National Trust and thought that seeing I've visited most of the English Heritage sites that are local to myself, I'll have a look there, I was in two minds where to go, and then I saw Nostell Priory on the app, not too far away and looks a nice afternoon out.
Nostell Priory was built between 1725-1785 by the Winn family, it was designed as a home but also to put out the message about the familys wealth, with the house featuring historic paintings, chippendale furniture and a rare John Harrison clock.

I really enjoyed my visit today, but there was so much that I haven't seen, the gardens for one, there's also a couple of lakes and all sorts, however, as I was having dinner there, the heavens opened, the rain really did come down today, so I thought I would give the gardens a miss today, but it is just an excuse to go back when it's a bit drier and hopefully more flowers will be out on the next visit.
I am however, so glad I am a member of the National Trust as the cost (my personal opinion) to get in if you aren't a member is quite expensive, for one adult to see the house and gardens it's just under £20 and then you have a £5 parking fee on top of that.
None of the shots I have taken today are masterpieces, nor portfolio potential, however, I really did enjoy my time at Nostell.
I am off to the Lake District next week, so I'm hoping for some great shots.
