The Hive Platform grows because it's members are active. However when I was checking my stats today, I discovered there are lots and lots of accounts that are DEAD. When I looked more into one of the accounts it was created in April 2016 has a Hive balance so I assume it is earning the approximately 3% APR on the balance even though it is inactive/Dead.
In looking over that accounts stats, it appears that it has never posted, commented or voted on anything in all the years it has been on the Hive Platform.
This made me start thinking about the actual stats that are quoted on CoinGeiko about the circulating supply of Hive and of the millions of Hive accounts established, how many of these are actually active.
I am ranked 3670 in Hive Power Balance on the Hive Platform however as you can see in the screen shot below several of those which are ahead of me in Hive Power Balance are DEAD accounts. You can tell they are dead because they have a Rep of 25 and all of the other stats are zero.
Would this mean that a third of the accounts in the top 3000 with Hive Power balances are not actvie on the Hive Platform? I hope not but based on what I am seeing it appears so.
My advise is "Don't Be one of the Dead Accounts", be active on the Hive Platform so that it can continue to grow as a Platform and become greater than other Crypto Platforms out there.
Hive Target
I currently have 2443 Hive Power. This is an increase of 12 Hive Power for the week. I would like to continue adding a little more each and every week. It will be a slow journey but if I am consistent with my activity, I will be able to get closer to my goal each and every day.
Weekly Earnings
This week, I missed several days of posting content so my rewards dropped a lot. My Author rewards dropped this week to 12.71 HP ($5.06) from 19.94 ($7.69) last week. My next weeks rewards will also be down as I missed three more days in the last seven as well.
Even though I did not post content, I was still able to curate. My curation rewards increased slightly this week to 3.30 HP ($1.31) from 3.27 HP ($1.26). It is good to see it staying above 3 Hive per week. I hope to maintain this but hope to get closer to 4 Hive per week as the year progresses.
I have been receiving 0.15 HBD Interest per week which is an increase from prior weeks amount of 0.14 HBD. HBD provides a 20% APR. I am adding a little to my HBD holdings each month in addition to the earned interest.
30 Day Earnings
During the last 30 days, I received a total of 76.52 HP ($30.46) compared to 83.13 HP ($32.07) of Author Rewards. This is a decrease due to not posting content in my 30 day earnings but I still want to get closer to the 100 HP per month that I hope to achieve by mid year.
My curation rewards slightly increased to 14.04 ($5.59) from 14.29 HP ($5.51). This is the second week that my curation rewards have exceeded 14 in a 30 day period. If this continues, I should be able to exceed reaching 15 HP per 30 days by mid-year. My interest earnings stayed at 0.63 HBD compared to the 30 days from prior weeks of 0.61 HBD
Curation APR
My curation APR move up to my targeted range of 8 to 10% this week. Even though it was the very bottom of my targeted range at 8%. My curation APR is 8.00% from 7.98% last week.
This week, I my first day of curation rewards over 1 HP. I was surprised by this since my normal daily curation is usually around 0.04 HP. I find it interesting that my curation rewards are all over the place as to the amount that I receive. I need to work on getting each day in the 0.4 rewards range or higher.
Hive Engine Tokens
There are four community tokens that I have chosen to increase in 2023. Not having posted content for two days of the week also impacted my Hive Engine Token earnings.
Alive - Increased staked Alive tokens by 85 to 17949 from 17864.
CTP - Increased staked CTP tokens by 227 to 22932 from 22705. The other 1,000 is related to a delegation I have received.
LEO - Increased staked LEO tokens by 1 to 433 from 432.
POB - Increase staked POB tokens by 20 to 2180 from 2160.
The picture of my Hive earnings would not be complete without including the received rewards from Hive Engine tokens. This week I received 8.31 ($3.31) as compared to 6.83 ($2.63) of Hive Engine tokens for Author and Curation rewards last week. Over the last 30 days, I have received 41.64 ($16.57) compared to 28.51 Hive equivalent ($11.00) of Hive Engine tokens last week. This is a nice increase. I hope to continue this so that it becomes a trend.
