I participate in Hive Power Up Day to ensure that I am always adding to my account growth. I have been apart of that process for over a year now and plan to continue as long as I am on the Hive Platform.
It has now become a Financial habit that I look forward to each and every month. At first, I thought that I did not need to participate because I power up my Hive each and every day. By doing this, I thought that it would help my account grow faster.
It does and it doesn't.
It does help it grow each and every day and you can see the account balance increase each day.
It doesn't because when you are first staring out the amount you power up each and every day is so small that it does not really add anything to your curation earnings. Granted you do get the approximately 3% for having Hive powered up but that small of an amount on the small amount that is powered up is a rounding error and probably does not increase your account balance.
At that point, I took it as a personal challenge to save up at least 10 Hive each month so that I could power it all up on one day. There were times during the month at first when I thought that I could use the funds better elsewhere. This was a struggle for me during those first few months because I was always scrambling at the end of the month to come up with those last few Hive to have 10 so that I could get the badge.
Now the badge is not as important as just continuing the "Habit" of powering up on a monthly basis. My account has grown a lot since then but I still get that feeling of satisfaction each month when I participate in "Hive Power Up Day".

Hive Target

I am targeting 2,500 Hive Power by the end of the year. My balance is 2033 HP and increase of 33 from last week. I need 467 more HP to reach my goal by year end. There are 14 more weeks left in the year to add to my stack. This would be adding around 33.3 HP per week for the rest of the year.
Author and Curation Rewards
Hive earnings can be increased through author and curation rewards. My author rewards decreased slightly over the past week to 41.12 HP from 43.79 HP. This is above the level of Author rewards I will need to make my goal of 2500 by end of year.
This week I convert HBD to Hive and powered it up. Since my rewards are paid in 50% Hive and 50% HBD, I must convert some each week to be able ensure I am growing my account to reach my target. I have found that I do this on a more frequent time period that just monthly it is easier to maintain and I do not use the funds for other reasons.
My 30 day Author rewards also increased to 182.42 from 153 last week.
My 7 day curation rewards dropped big time this week to 1.99 from 2.46 last week. I have noticed in the past when the value of Hive decreases, my curation rewards tend to head in the same direction.
Hive Account Growth
Even with the decrease in curation rewards, my trend line is still growing nicely. I am hoping I can continue to maintain this rate of increase to my Hive Power.
Hive Curation
My curation APR again took a hit this week moving down to 6.17% from 7.81%. It is heading in the right direction and I am hoping that it is above 8% next week. I believe the main driver is the lower Hive price but can not for certain know this to be true.
Hive Engine Tokens
These tokens that I have chosen have several use cases that are important to me. Here are my targets and progress for each of the specific tokens I have created a 2022 goal.
I received two new one month delegations of CTP and Alive tokens. This should help my curation rewards and move me closer to my year end goals.
