Over the past month, I have been adding to my dCity. It is fun to run the simulator to see how adding different items impacts the parts of your dCity that are already there.
It is a big balancing act. At times, there are different crisis that hit your city as well that you will need to adjust for. My dCity is still very small compared to most of the other players but I am trying to grow it each week.
This Week's Additions
Since the taxing rate is still very high, I wanted to add another item that would provide a tax refund. This time, I chose to add a Student.
Sorry but in https://nftm.art/buy/city the image of the student card did not appear but it was showing to cost 0.46 Swap.Hive.
But I checked how much it would cost in SIM and it was a little lower at 1084 SIM or 0.387 Hive so I purchased it using SIM tokens
I also know that students need to have an Internet Connection so they can study and also they need to work part time. Based on this, I looked at getting two more items - Free Internet Connection and a Job Center. Both of these were listed for 0.15 Swap.Hive each.
When I checked the SIM cost of these two items, the Free Internet Connection was cheaper when purchasing in SIM tokens at 369 SIM or 0.132 Hive. There was not a Job Center offered using SIM tokens so I purchased it at the 0.15 Swap.Hive.
I am also always looking for NFTs that others are dumping on the market for cheap. I was able to find a Construction Site for only 84.15 SIM which appeared to be an outright steal because I normally do not see items for that cheap listed for sell. So I grabbed it before anyone else could.
I, however, do not know how this will impact my dCity going forward. I may have made a very bad decision or it could have been the best decision ever. Only time will tell.
dCity Stats
Because of the taxes, I have a negative SIM income but hoping to get a Tax Refund with some of the cards that I am adding.
I was getting 2 SIM before all the changes and now it is showing 3 SIM. It changes up and down with the different crisis that hit the city. I am just trying to get the refund as high as possible.
I also have gotten my population back to "Perfectly balanced". Let's see how long that lasts. The last time I got it balanced a crisis hit the city throwing everything out of balance again. Like I said earlier, it is a balancing act and you need to rebalance almost every few days to keep everything where you would like it to be.
Global dCity Users
Over the last 30 days, there has been 17 new players to start playing dCity. The good news is that 4 of those new players joined on one day - Feb 8th.
There are now 3525 dCity Players however only between 80 to slightly over 100 are active on any given day. This is a lot better than the month before where it was lucky if there were 80 players that visited the game on any one day.
