You can see here, some Oak trees that I planted and have sprouted. In the distance, you can see the cherry wood staircase that leads up the hill to my third property in this region. It as a nice view.

I have tried a few methods but find this is the best, a manageable amount of trees at a time. All the sticks, apples and saplings fall below. I am safe, night or day (unless those flying screechers appear) but I do plan to dig enough sand and make enough glass that I can encase this area, but we will see.

Above the Tree mill, I have already built the next level. In the distance the opposite direction from the hill, I built a long bridge across the water. Mainly to get the sand, also to see what is over there, but to discover more things I need, like carrots and potatoes. It can be complicated once you build too much, to keep track of A) All that needs to be done to maintain the farm B) Continued mining for Coal, Iron and other rare materials C) Preparing food to consume, tools to use, and weapons to fight with. Armour helps, but when you die you can lose it all and must start over.

Fortunately I have enough stuff now and if I die, I do respawn within reasonable distance of my forts. From up above so high I can see my second-level farm, covering the animal pen below. On the left you can see all the free range, sometimes I leave the gate open and animals can leave, or I will lead them into the traps that lead them into my food farm. They are free to come and go, for the most part. There is a designated kill room and if they wander in there, they may become hamburger. There is a sign, I warn them. I was feeding the black sheep to increase their populatio, but I have now got more than enough wool for making any number of banners, carpets or other string thing.

More saplings = more trees = more wood = more saplings and so on. Long game, and good sleep to keep the creepers away. If you start letting monsters spawn, pretty soon they are destroying your base and youll have to remodel completely. That is what happened here, a creeper exploded.

image.png

my inventory right now, as you can see I have a bit of glass, and lots of wood. some copper tools, that will need replacing soon. Focus on one task at a time, and what you need for that task.

image.png

Currently that task is widening the chery wood staircase to my hilltop fort,

image.png

Wow look at all these Chickens!!

image.png

From the top of the hill you can see I really have quite a bit going on here at the survival farm.
