When I started playing Fortnite I did it to play games with my brother and his kids. Over the past 3 years I have become a more competitive player, realizing that Fortnite is doing a lot of things right.
It reminded me of Halo in a lot of ways, but my favourite game was Goldeneye. I really like the open world aspect of GTA V and although there was no driving when I started playing, now we can mod a number of vehicles with jumbo tires and cow catchers to improve the driving experience.
Fortnite keeps on giving, even with one Battle Pass you can go on to earn dozens of skins. All along the way you also earn accolades and rank up, accumulating experiences and adventures.
These remind me of scout badges you earn, for Fishing or Cooking or completing other challenges.
I don't even have to get hit in the face with a dodgeball. Although getting eliminated in the heat of battle sometimes feels like it, and after the war last season Battle Royale is extra dangerous.
We are all battle hardened after dealing with Tanks, Airships and extremely dangerous NPCs.
Replays don't even tell the whole story, but some of these Career achievements do.
The story is not over yet either, we Loopers don't even know what realities will bloom from the Reality Trees that are blooming around the map, but I will keep grinding for those Cash Cups.
