The setting sun with its last rays of light,

Sweeps over the darkened land,

Like the closing of a door.

My world has changed and adapted,

I've learned to live without you.

So why try to convince me now,

Of the love you could show me?

Tell me how can a heart change,

After years of waiting,

For a story that can never end,

For it has no beginning?

How could you prove,

That I exist to you?

The angels see right through me.

Yet you look at me,

As if I were a star to light your way.

Don't you understand?

All I can ever give you is hurt and pain.

The moon rises,

The stars shine in your eyes.

This is a sin,

But I can't help it.

And now as I look at you,

I see a future.

I realize now that you are,

Now more than ever,

My past.

My present.

My immaculately designed future.

So let the sun set,

Because in your eyes,

I see enough light,

To last for my eternity in the dark.
