Hello, everyone! πŸ‘‹

Today I want to share a new illustration inspired by one of the most iconic characters from Naruto: Itachi Uchiha, this time portrayed in a Chibi version.

For this illustration, I wanted to create a mysterious and dark atmosphere, using a huge red moon as the main visual element to complement the character and reinforce his distinctive aesthetic. I also wanted to experiment with lighting and reddish tones to achieve a composition with a more cinematic visual identity.

Now, I'd like to show you how I brought this illustration to life, from the first rough sketches to the final result. 🎨

✏️ Creation Process

1. Initial Sketch:

I started by creating a rough sketch using blue strokes, combining simple lines and basic shapes to establish the character's pose, proportions, and the main elements of the composition. At this stage, I also planned the position of the moon and the environment surrounding Itachi.

2. Preliminary Line Art:

Once the initial structure was defined, I created a second version of the drawing using red lines. This line art still lacked many details, but it allowed me to establish the contours, clothing shapes, and the character's main features more accurately, serving as a guide for the next stage.

3. Detailed Line Art:

In this stage, I refined the previous drawing to achieve cleaner and more defined line art. I added details to the hair, ninja headband, face, hands, and folds of the Akatsuki cloak, making sure to preserve the character's essence while adapting him to the Chibi style.

4. Base Coloring:

With the line art completed, I moved on to applying the illustration's main colors. I defined the black and red tones of the outfit, the skin colors, and the details of the eyes. I also added an initial version of the background, featuring a red moon with a uniform appearance and a floor to complete the scene. At this stage, I focused on establishing the color palette without going too deeply into shadows or lighting effects.

5. Detailed Coloring and Background:

Next, I worked on the coloring details, incorporating shadows, highlights, and lighting effects to give the character more volume and depth. I also improved the appearance of the moon by adding a more realistic texture and details that made it look much more striking.

6. Final Touch-ups in Photoshop:

Finally, I took the illustration into Photoshop to make the last adjustments. I focused especially on lighting effects, contrast, and the overall color tones, aiming to reinforce the red-night atmosphere I had envisioned from the beginning. These final touches helped blend the character more naturally with the background and gave the illustration its definitive finish.

πŸŒ™ Final Result

And that's how we arrive at the final result of this illustration! It was a very enjoyable process, especially when it came to working on the atmosphere and finding the right lighting to convey the mysterious feeling that makes Itachi such a distinctive character.

I hope you enjoy this Chibi version as much as I enjoyed creating it, and that you appreciate the creative process behind it.

Thank you so much for joining me once again, and I'll see you in my next illustration! ❀️
