Description from Strava: I'm on holiday (again!)

Its been an unusually busy year for once, with a trip up to Scotland at Easter, folled by a sort break to Carlisle over the Summer. Then there was a 'weekend break' of sorts, ie 2 nights in a tent for Equinox24. And now finally its time for a short stay down in London

it's also been an unusually expensive year... i wonder why that is! 馃馃槄

We've come down to London as part of celebrating my partners ( dawnsart@dawnsart ) 40th birthday. We are here specifically so Dawn can photograph the Red Deer here in Richmond Park, one of the largest royal parks at over 2500 acres. We picked a pokey travelodge in Richmond, so we are as close as possible, and also we plan to visit Kew Gardens while we are here.

After a long and boring train journey, and 2 short trips on the underground, we arrived just after 1pm. We decided to book into the travelodge early, so we could dump most of our luggage, and head straight out to the Park.

Im glad we did, as we've had a fab afternoon in the sunshine... Lots of Red Deer including an impressively grumpy Monarch Stag, an assortment of corvids, and some unexpected Parakeets too!

we've got off to a flying start

Also pleased as it looks rather wet tomorrow, so glad Dawn has already seen some of what she wanted. Tomorrow will be what it'll be... but at least the trip to Kew should be a better day weather wise.

will write up a proper post once we're home, with more detail and plenty of pictures, but for now its time for bed, and some much needed rest, before we go again tomorrow

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
