I walked to the Owosso Bridge area for my morning walk today. I was playing Pokémon Go, and on the way there I fought a Team Go Rocket grunt at a pokestop and got a “mysterious component”, which seems to be part of the new Team Rocket event which is running in the game. I’m hopeful about this, because I think the Team Go Rocket fights are a good recent addition to the game that have made it more engaging for me as a player. It was also nice that this happened this morning because I was having a really miserable day from an emotional perspective, and seeing a some new game content provided at least a little jolt of positivity.

It was still somewhat dark when I got to the bridge, so I headed down toward the scale model of Pluto. I had been thinking that trying to do mindfulness practice today would be a lost cause due to my roiling emotions, but then I did decide to try for a few minutes on a bench by the path on the far side of the river. My mind was wandering quite a bit, but at least I tried.

Things were getting lighter by the time I got back to the bridge, but it was quite a foggy morning.

I followed the riverbank path toward home, and then detoured to pick up a few things from the store. Because this route doesn’t take me past many pokestops I hadn’t expected to make much progress on the new quest today, but on the way home from the store I did go near a pokestop that happened up have Team Rocket activity do I stopped to fight the grunt. He turned out to have a team composed of the Porygon line of evolutions, which I thought was a fun theme — I always like it when there’s some sort of throughline for the Team Rocket Team rather than just being an assortment of pokemon.
