Hello travelers! Today I had another wonderful day for hiking. This time, I visited Cerro Las Tres Cruces, located in Montebello, a township in Cali, Colombia. I woke up early to have breakfast and go up prepared. I went with my brother and sister-in-law, we started the hike and were delighted with the beautiful scenery we found along the way.

¡Hola viajeros! Hoy tuve otro día maravilloso para hacer senderismo. Esta vez, visité el Cerro Las Tres Cruces, ubicado en Montebello, un corregimiento de Cali, Colombia. Me desperté temprano para desayunar y subir preparado. Fui con mi hermano y mi cuñada, comenzamos la caminata y nos deleitamos con los hermosos paisajes que encontramos en el camino.

To get to Las Tres Cruces, there are approximately four entrances. We went up the first one, known as Montebello, which crosses a rural area. The route is approximately 4 kilometers long and has a lot of vegetation and beautiful views. The second route is called Normandía and is a neighborhood located to the west of the city. On this route, we find mainly residential areas, but as we move forward, we enter completely green areas. The third route is known as Bataclan, with a distance of 1.3 kilometers. It starts in the Granada neighborhood, located in the east of the city, and is the most difficult route due to its steep incline. The fourth route is known as "La Tripleta" and has a distance of 4.3 kilometers. It starts behind a shopping center called Chipichape. Although it is the longest route, it offers the best views of the city and incredible viewpoints. It took us about an hour and a half to get to the top.

Para llegar a Las Tres Cruces, existen aproximadamente cuatro entradas. Nosotros subimos por la primera, conocida como Montebello, que atraviesa una zona rural. El recorrido es de aproximadamente 4 kilómetros y cuenta con mucha vegetación y vistas preciosas. La segunda ruta se llama Normandía y es un barrio situado al oeste de la ciudad. En esta ruta, nos encontramos principalmente con zonas residenciales, pero a medida que avanzamos, nos adentramos en zonas completamente verdes. La tercera ruta es conocida como Bataclan, con una distancia de 1.3 kilómetros. Se inicia en el barrio Granada, ubicado al este de la ciudad, y es la ruta más difícil debido a su inclinación pronunciada. La cuarta ruta es conocida como "La Tripleta" y tiene una distancia de 4.3 kilómetros. Se inicia detrás de un centro comercial llamado Chipichape. Aunque es la ruta más larga, ofrece las mejores vistas de la ciudad y miradores increíbles. Nos tomó alrededor de una hora y media llegar a la cima.

Along the way, we could appreciate different landscapes, as well as farms, houses and some fruit shops where we could enjoy breakfast or drinks. The weather was quite pleasant, depending on the time of day. Along the way, we encountered beautiful views. Although the area is quite busy, especially on weekends, the route is safe for walking.asked a friend to take pictures with his phone as it captured the scenery better and he gave me permission to upload them.

En el camino, pudimos apreciar diversos paisajes, así como fincas, casas y algunos locales de fruterías donde podíamos disfrutar de desayunos o bebidas. El clima era bastante agradable, dependiendo de la hora del día. Durante el trayecto, nos encontramos con vistas hermosas. Aunque la zona es bastante transitada, especialmente los fines de semana, la ruta es segura para caminar.Le pedí a mi hermano tomar fotos con su teléfono ya que captaba mejor el paisaje y me dio permiso de subirlas.

The Three Crosses were installed in 1837. Initially, they were made of bamboo, but were toppled by an earthquake in 1925 with a magnitude of 6.8.In commemoration of the centennial of their installation, the crosses were rebuilt, this time of iron and cement. The central cross is 26 meters high and 11 meters wide, while the other two crosses are 22 meters high and 8 meters wide. The construction was carried out from May 27, 1937 to May 6, 1938. From the top, you can see the entire city of Cali.

Las Tres Cruces fueron instaladas en el año 1837. Inicialmente, estaban hechas de bambú, pero fueron derribadas por un terremoto en 1925 con una magnitud de 6.8. En conmemoración del centenario de la ciudad se volvió hacer su instalación, las cruces fueron reconstruidas, esta vez de hierro y cemento. La cruz central tiene una altura de 26 metros y un ancho de 11 metros, mientras que las otras dos tienen 22 metros de altura y 8 metros de ancho. La construcción se llevó a cabo desde el 27 de mayo de 1937 hasta el 6 de mayo de 1938. Desde la cima, se puede observar toda la ciudad de Cali.
