I want to touch on something that I've been trying to incorporate into my life. In a word: to exude. To exude is to pour forth, to put out into the world. It is to do so abundantly. When we exude a certain quality, it becomes irrefutable to those around us. No one can deny that we have been able to weave this quality into the fabric of our beings.
I believe that there are a goddamn plethora of things worth exuding. The beauty lies in discovering... Which feel authentically ours? Which would we like to incorporate? For myself, I would like to become more confident. Currently, I apologize before anything has gone wrong. I defer to the knowledge of others, even when I feel certainty. To put it bluntly, I pussyfoot around to avoid negatively impacting the people in my life.
I have come to realize that this is a painful way to exist. It means shrinking myself to allow others space to expand. The thing is this: soul space is an infinite resource. There is room enough in this multiverse for every human to expand to their highest- vibrating selves. Furthermore, people respond profoundly to vulnerability and authenticity. Our relationships grow in leaps and bounds when we SPEAK and OWN our truths.
So, confidence. If I can learn to exude this quality, my life will be significantly impacted. It will help me to trust myself: that I have the ability to think and act in ways that will do good things for others. It will encourage me to take up more space, which can only benefit my pursuits and relationships. People pick up on how we treat ourselves and take the cue in subsequent interactions. Let's show them that we know we are worthy of respect and compassion (as ALL beings are).
To exude: "to display conspicuously or abundantly" (Webster's online dictionary). I love this definition. Let us all be conspicuous displays of our greatest qualities.
