I have been really distant from this, with all that is happening in my life, i simply don't have time or the will to write. I tried coming back, but honestly apathy was stronger than me. Today I'm back, briefly, because I thought I'd share with this community the process of covering a tattoo I had.
When i started tattooing, it was natural to practice on myself. I knew I would have to cover some of them eventually. For me this type of decision are not that big of a deal, so I never gave too much thought.
He estado s煤per alejada de esto, entre tantas cosas sucediendo en mi vida, sencillamente no ten铆a tiempo ni ganas de escribir. Intent茅 volver, pero la verdad la apat铆a me gan贸 nuevamente. Hoy vuelvo, moment谩neamente, pues pens茅 en compartir con 茅sta comunidad el proceso de hacerme un cover-up a mi misma.
Cuando empec茅 a tatuar, fue natural practicar en mi misma. Sab铆a bien que tarde o temprano iba a tener que cubrir uno que otro. Para m铆 este tipo de decisiones no son tan descabelladas de tomar, as铆 que no lo pens茅 mucho.
It's not like I completely hated the tattoo itself, but one day it just came to me the idea of getting that covered. So one rainy day I started sketching something that could do the trick. Once satisfied I just made the stencil, placed it and waited for it to dry while I prepared everything else.
The design is pretty much "less is more", ans the previous tattoo was essentially a solid black blob, so why should I complicate things further. It was logic to me that i would use Dynamic's triple black and to cover as much as I could.
Si bien no me molestaba este tatuaje, de la noche a la ma帽ana empec茅 a tener la idea fija de finalmente cubrirlo. As铆 que una tarde lluviosa y sin nada que hacer, empec茅 a bocetear algo que sirviera para este prop贸sito. Una vez satisfecha, casi en autom谩tico hice el stencil, lo coloqu茅 y esper茅 que secara mientras preparaba mi 谩rea de trabajo.
Este dise帽o parte de que menos es m谩s, y el previo tatuaje era en escencia una mancha negra s贸lida, as铆 que no iba a complicarme la vida. Era l贸gico que usar铆a triple black de dynamic y cubrir lo m谩s que pudiera.
I started by outlining everything with a 5RL, and did the dotting areas with the same needle. Then I filled everything with a Magnum 7.
I really thought it would take more time, keeping in mind how uncomfortable I was. But within one hour and a half I was done, pretty much because ny lower back was in excruciating pain. If anything I can give myself a touch-up later on. But for now I am okay with it.
Lo primero fue elaborar las l铆neas con una 5RL, adem谩s las zonas en las que quer铆a utilizar puntillismo de arrastre tambi茅n las hice con esta misma aguja. Luego los rellenos los hice con una Magnum 7.
Sinceramente pens茅 que me llevar铆a m谩s tiempo, teniendo en cuenta la incomodidad de la posici贸n. Pero al cabo de una hora y media di por finalizada mi labor pues el dolor de espalda ya estaba en su punto m谩ximo. De necesitar alguna cosa, lo retomar茅 m谩s adelante. Pero de momento estoy satisfecha.
I covered it with a patch and now it was time to wait until its healed... One day later I went out with friends to distract myself from the chaos of my own existence and I got to take a pic of the inkbag.
Coloque un parche d茅rmico y ahora es cosa de esperar que sane... Y un d铆a despu茅s sali a pistear con amigos para distraerme del caos de mi existencia y captur茅 esta foto de mi inkbag.
