Dlive is a great initiative that has been brought to the Steemit blockchain. I love the fact that anybody can make a platform for other users to benefit from and Dlive is nothing short of that.

How do you decide a stream is good or not?

A stream is always better quality when the user uses the trio of good webcam, audio interface and a decent microphone and most importantly a personality that viewers can relate to.

It's basically a popularity thing which I think would be great if Dlive could somehow have some incentive for the little people or newbies to the whole LIVE streaming gig as I'm sure many people who wanna try out live streaming don't have decent equipment setup on their comps.

But overall I think a good stream is one that has a personality that viewers can relate to and identify with. The category dropdown is something really good and it does help a lot on whether a stream or content is good or not because things are sorted better and not everything is jumbled up into "Live Stream" per say.

Some things to help newbies

My first time using Dlive I was in a blur when I entered the website not knowing what to do or what to click to start streaming. There wasn't any particular tutorial or anything or anything clear before clicking the 'Go Live' button.

I wished that as soon as you click into the website there would be a welcome page like, "Welcome to Dlive" or a nice catch phrase like, "Earn Streaming Live" or something that'll actually get newbies or people that have no idea about Steemit to engage with the platform.

This would create another problem though, which it would get a little annoying for older users who are familiar with the platform if whenever they enter the website and there's always the same welcome page thing. But I think it'll be easily solved if it was a pop-up window that could be closed for good, "I don't want to see this again" box to tick.

• Also if the live streams could be viewed automatically after it has ended, that would be great. It's really hard to follow people on this platform as whenever you click and the person is not streaming live, you can't watch the video. It's annoying and disengaging. Gonna be hard to build a following or follow people you like.

How and why I started streaming on Dlive

How I was introduced to @dlive was through a fellow #teammalaysia friend @howtostartablog where he was already using Dlive when it first started and he wrote a tutorial on one of his blogpost on how to get started which I found very helpful and stirred my curiosity to try it out.

I'm currently streaming casual gaming clips but I'm saving up for a decent webcam, audio interface and microphone to get me started in the full live streaming scene. I'm still hopping between what I should be streaming. It's between a podcast-like chat session, music covers or undiscovered video games or maybe all three, of which isn't gonna be a simple feat.
