“We are ALL loyal to something/someone and it can be a pity that one can be loyal to ignorance”---dani-EL. There is no denying what is true, there is where our heart yields to. Everyday, there is something you mostly prioritize and as earlier said, even if you care not to picture it out.
There were days I used to love eating. I am just trying to bring in a scenario here that we can easily relate to. Did you know eating became a bad habit on my end? I ate at will and maybe you may think as long as I had the money to, why not. I can't agree to that, there are so many ways of enslaving oneself.
It couldn't allow me to discern times and seasons; my belly consumed a lot of my potential and when I decided to turn my attention away, that was when I knew I had given loyalty to a bad direction.
Expanding much further, this can be work, marriage, business, behavior, your environment or God. Sitting there to watch an hour -long movie, playing a video game, scrolling through feeds on social media but getting bored of reading what can improve your life. You ignore personal growth because your loyalty has shifted to mundane things.
Talking of work, you can do anything to reach office on time but when it comes to things concerning your relationship with God, it is a ‘come when you like’. You are not bored, the in-between difference there is loyalty. You prioritize pleasing your boss in the office; that's loyalty for you. I am not saying you should not be valuable at work place but I guess you know where I am heading to.
It can be spending day and night in the office. It is not actually a matter of becoming your best version. Many realize themselves very late in all these processes. In the end, wealth was accrued at the cost of loosing connection completely with your creator.
Where am I heading in this article? You can have time for God only if you want to. Life is about priorities and whatever your prioritize automatically leads in your calendar. I was having such a conversation with a friend and she told me she can't work a job that doesn't give her time to meet up with church activities and as we speak, she is currently working where time schedule meets her prioritized demands.
