Do you believe in recovery and restoration? Many find life outdated to them because they feel they out their timing. This is when depression hits hard. Where do I start from, how can I even start? This was one of the fates of David and his 600 men; they returned to realize that all their years of labor had been swept away. Wives, children and properties were all carried away by bandits.
Maybe the best idea would have been to start a chase, perhaps, if they all scattered in all directions, someone would have brought back some vital information. But they are likely times where human effort speed can fail. So what did David do?;
1 Samuel 30:8 NIV and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
This is no longer a pursuit backed up by human speed but rather, the hand of God. We are all familiar with how the entire story ended (See 1 Samuel 30:1-31).
From here, we have been able to look into the issue of divine restoration. Maybe a need to still push further. I want you to start bundling your entire situation as we enter this second phase. It may seem very impossible already; don't let your feelings decide;
Romans 3:4a NIV Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar.
Do well to include your present negative feelings here. After summing them up please answer this question, How can a man outrun the chariot of a king? Does it make any sense? We fully understand the fact that the King's chariot is fixed with the best and healthiest horses. Maybe we should rewind back a little to how it all started.
1 Kings 18:41-42 NIV And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” [42]So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.
King Ahad took off from Mount Carmel to Jezreel while Elijah climbed the mountain. NOTE: Elijah is yet to go to Jezreel where King Ahab is heading to but rather, he is climbing the mountain to observe a long prayer time. How many minutes to hour or hours can it take to climb? Secondly, how long did Elijah stay there to pray? From careful study of that passage (See 1 Kings 18:41-46), we are talking of hours here but let's just keep it at two hours maximum. But it was Elijah that reached Jezreel before Ahab.
1 Kings 18:46 NIV The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
I am trying to expose you to what the hand of God can do to somebody. These are not just Bible stories, God is still restoring men today. You just need to find Divine speed which is the hand of God. Are you feeling left behind, lost many years, many opportunities, one event or the other brought about financing bankruptcy, an incident that made you a school dropout and you now feel there is no hope for. Do yourself this favor; sincerely hold on to God. He knows how to overtake intruders, out run horses and many other things you can't even imagine off.
To conclude let me add, you are not in any way disadvantaged with God. The ball is at your own court; remain faithful because I can assure you this God will never fail you
