If you have been making light of the Holy Spirit, please step up. I am saying this for your own good or you will have to live in another person's programming. God is not an author of confusion.
Sermons upon sermons, you need them for growth. I can't account for how many sermons I listen to daily now adding to the fact that I am into full time gospel content creations. Every preacher is speaking from his depths of revelations and it is something you also need to be sensitive about.
God will use men to speak to you, no doubt about this. Nevertheless, God is much interested in speaking to you directly. There is always one issue or the other to be debated or tried to be given its needed balance. Christians are not praying anymore and on another view, they are over praying. Christians are lazying about and on the other hand Christians are over prioritizing their work/jobs.
It has been some of those many debates and well, if you are to ask me, all makes sense but the best I can tell you is this; prioritize help. People will talk, give you suggestions but the one who knows the best for you is the Holy Spirit.
For instance, God can decide to tell one individual not to be eating beans (I am just citing an example). This doesn't mean he should make a doctrine out of it that beans are not good for eating. We are all part of one body; we have been called into an eternal project which requires high spiritual sensitivity.
What was John the Baptist meal? Locust and wild honey, he abstained himself from eating and drinking the regulars. How did men translate it?
Matthew 11:18-19 NIV For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ [19]The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
Didn't I earlier say that God is not the author of confusion; ’but wisdom is proved right by her deeds’; their both individual ministries met in one junction; proclaiming the Goodnews and this is what the Holy Spirit is still making out of us today.
Maybe you should focus your prayer times mostly on ‘Dear Holy Spirit, what do you want me to do, how have you called me to live so that I can fit into your project?’. Please start prioritizing this prayer; we need help that only the Holy Spirit can supply.
In conclusion, let me add, the take home here is that we should not prioritize doctrines, experiences or the wisdom of men. I am not saying you should look down on men who have gone ahead in ministries. You need them, their knowledge and teaching counts but make sure all these add together to lead you to the place of intimacy and personal relationship with God. This is where your true potential will be revealed.
Revelation 4:11 NIV You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
