According to where we are building to in this context, ‘once is a lie’. It is a big pity how someone can be swimming in a pool of lies all the years of his life.
Are you a friend of the Holy scriptures? I have become a beneficiary of the Bible. I can't even imagine it; there is no day that I do not go through the Bible. This is not me trying to boast, I am just letting us know how drawn I am now to the word of life.
I can't even imagine the number of times I go through it. From personal bible reading to Bible study some days. It doesn't even end there, how about meditations of the scriptures? All of a sudden, a word just hits you and you start to pray with it.
Or maybe I should also involve going through gospel messages online daily. From videos to audios, text and images, it all translates. So it is more like Bible in, Bible out daily. There were times the bible was none of my concerns. Waking up without praying was usual.
That mentality of ‘live your life, you only live once’. Be careful of words you allow to resonate in your hearts. When wrong proverbs shape your life you will end up a victim.
Who told you it is your life? Who told you that you only live once? It is written, I made everything for my glory, or haven't you also read, love The Lord you God with all.
Philippians 1:21-23 NIV
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
I know what you might be thinking, death is mentioned. Yes, but it's a gaining death. What can this mean?
Philippians 1:22-23 NIV If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! [23]I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;
Note: ‘the latter is by far better’.
There are still other scriptures we can call into this. Maybe I should also touch on the aspect of eternity.
John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
To add to that, either you will live eternal life with Christ or in condemnation. I can assure you, we are living a transforming life. Here is a stage, how you live here will determine where you will be given to live then.
To conclude, let me add, don't let the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘be ever hearing but never understanding become manifest in your life. God cannot lie to you, Jesus can not joke with you and The Holy Spirit cannot compromise. He is calling on us, let's not get carried away by norms that turns out to be all lies.
