The now or never mentality has made slaves out of many. Everyone (or most precisely many) want it to happen and they want it quick. You can rush into a wrong marriage, wrong investments, wrong ideas, wrong environment, make wrong friends just because you wanted to feel included.
One of the biggest opportunities to leverage in this era is impatience and distraction. If you can walk the vice then your chances of making it are very high. Putting people in one place to focus is not an easy job nowadays.
There are visions you can't beg anyone to be a part of. All you have to do is present to them what is on ground and leave them to make their choices. I know what I mean, especially when you are an entrepreneur or an investor with long term visions.
How can you explain to someone the entire procedures? It is not that easy, it is rather a statement of ‘time will tell’. I guess this was the fate of Coca-Cola in its early years. In short, every big company followed suit.
Ok, we are trying to recruit and build our team to push our brand and company to the next phase. We need a minimum set of staffs that we will be taking time to train. This will take patience at both ends: they will be apprentices (unpaid for a certain reasonable period). On the other hand, we will be passing down knowledge (free training session throughout that period).
I was talking with one of our newly recruited apprentices today and I gave out two statements and I wish will be of motivation throughout the stay. Maybe I was giving a tip that can turn her into a long term beneficiary of where this company is going. The first statement goes thus;
Do not despise your days of little beginning
beginning A baby starts the journey of walking by shaking himself on the floor. Did you even see it from that end? It might not make any sense but it was that body shaking that inspired the next stage until he could finally walk.
Learning can sometimes feel boring. You will have to go through some inconveniencing stages. You don't need to feel like doing it, you will have to. The learning itself can seem difficult.
At least I have this experience; it took me some time to understand that art of sewing. Concerning this company, I still have a lot to learn and better myself. If you underrate yourself or what you are doing, it gets much difficult to succeed at it.
The second advice goes this way;
Visions speaks in the end
Ok, this company is presenting you with a vision and you are not expecting to see everything now. My idea here was how she could key into this vision by understanding that we will have to work together to achieve it.
Our focus is not on the now but rather, the latter end. Where and how will this company look like in the next 5 to a decade? That's the vision.
Let's just hope this little bit of advice sticks to her brain. As I earlier said, you can't forcefully work with people to build something big, they will have to key into the vision and I have tried my best to put up the needed tips.
