Pride comes before a fall. When you see God taking to train out a man, it is for the greater good. Anyway, the processes are not always enjoyable but it's necessary. A man of experience knows how to handle things and well, this depends on how long he is ready to retain such knowledge.
This is what we are going to focus on in this article. I was just asking a friend, what motivated Solomon to marry 1000 wives? Was this affordability or pride?. We have to start from the fact that he was the most knowledgeable man in his time yet he chose to marry 1000 wives?
How did it end? So he ended up scattering shrines all over Israel to appease his foreign wives. The latter end was very detestable to God and you can see God not always mentioning any covenant with Solomon but rather with David. Pride took him, he tried to explore knowledge beyond the needed boundaries and he became a victim.

Should we talk of Sampson? The man that killed a lion with his bare hands. With a donkey’s jaw, he routed 1000 Philistines armies. Sampson was feared and revered but how about his latter end? He abandoned his mission field and kept chasing after women.
As that was not enough, he disobeyed and uttered a consecration secret he was never permitted to let others know. Sampson ended up grinding pepper in the prison; a warrior whose eyes were both gorged out. See what pride can do.
To conclude, let me add, there is a need to learn from these men and their end experiences. Maybe I should also ask, is there any area of your life that you are beginning to experience pride?. Don't ignore it, the best time to start dealing with it in the place of prayers is now. God can help you amend your ways before it gets too late.
