Some people find loneliness to be the biggest enemy during winter time in Sweden. The cold inhospitable climate with long days of darkness, many times wear on people’s mind as they end up sitting mostly indoors without a lot of social interaction. Things certainly have gotten better with the pandemic.
That’s why I have tried to get out as much as possible, because out in nature I find solitude but without the feeling of loneliness. I have been going to the nearby lake a lot lately as I find it a nice spot to go for a walk. The ice is already thick enough to walk on and as there is just about an inch or so of snow on top the ice so it’s easy to walk.
I decided that it would be cool to use monochrome for these pictures. It almost looks like another planet with this kind of landscape.
Here you can actually see my shadow. I’m not really sure it even looks like a person. But yea it’s me walking on the ice and enjoying the fresh air as I soak in the ice cold monochrome landscape.
