If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t saaay... write a seafood restaurant review for tasteem@tasteem, run it on a Friday for the #foodies over at foodfightfriday@foodfightfriday celebrating their one year anniversary on the platform and allow the readers to reach their own conclusion—happy Friday! Welcome—I’m glad you made it.

Good game foodfightfriday@foodfightfriday, thanks for having me, tasteem.io—great platform you got here. 👍🏿 I had a tough time deciding on a cover image this week. When #writing a food article, I think you really need to put some effort into your click bait—the cover image can make or break you. I was uncertain if I should use the one I went with or this one of the menu:

is the food?

Continuing on, did I tell you I got two pictures? I was telling someone. 🤔 Anyhow, I got two pictures of the buildings exterior and decided to use the entrance as my cover image. This is the second one I got—the whole structure including an outdoor patio. The windows are #new but the brick isn’t. See the black pipes on the exterior of the building? That’s because it was built prior to indoor plumbing.

Welcome to Vallie Restaurant—Persian Cuisine. On the corner of Claremont Terrace and Lower Ashgrove at 25 Claremont Terrace in Bradford, England. BD5 0DQ.

Had the door not been open and we peeked inside the window, we probably would’ve double checked the restaurant hours because the place looked closed—we were the only ones in there.

A really nice restaurant, one of the three employees consistently arguing back and forth with each other turned on the A/C as we sat down because it was a little warm that day—it was comfortable inside. The floors were freshly mopped and waxed, they looked like they rarely get walked on, they were shiny and the light fixtures looked brand new. Comfortable chairs, fancy tablecloths or, as they say in England, “posh” tablecloths.

waiting.

Continuing on, did I tell you the menu has four pages? I was telling someone. 🤔 Anyhow, the extensive menu has plenty for everyone’s unique eating preference. On page two and three is the meat skewers, all of the V’s on the menu are vegetarian items which most can be vegan by having it prepared without cheese. The last page is your sides, drinks, a few more skewers and desserts. But we were there for the seafood.

I ordered the sea bass on page three—a filet of grilled sea bass, served with grilled tomatoes, lemon, and choice of rice. I ordered the Zareshk rice listed on page four, it’s a white rice topped with saffron and barberries (similar to raisins). Both the rice and the fish tasted good, I dumped the olives out of the ramekin they were in, the olives were delicious, The entrance door just seemed to picture better. Grilled sea bass:

The stunning puravidaville@puravidaville ordered the grilled salmon, it came with a side of rice and grilled vegetables, she ordered the saffron rice. Together we shared an appetizer not listed on the menu called ‘vegetables roasted in a tomato sauce.’ It consisted of lentils, green beans, zucchini, tomatoes and spices. Grilled salmon and :

The grilled sea bass took quite awhile and careful precision to eat. Pura and I try to have fish at least twice a week, it does wonders for our skin—keeps it nice and smooth and clear. I didn’t leave anything on the plate and the vegetables in tomato sauce didn’t stand a chance, either. I emptied that bowl all the way out.

The ramekin you see on the plate in the above picture is the one that had the olives in it. I ate all of the olives and used it as a bone catcher to dig out what seemed like an entire sea bass skeleton from of my teeth, one bite at a time:

Will I go back? Is that what you asked or did you say ‘how much was that?’ The price was a little high compared to most of the restaurants we’ve been to other than London. Everything is a little pricey in London. Two entrees, a bowl of vegetables in tomato sauce and two waters—£27.50 (about $35). Will I go back?

Continuing on, did I tell you about the hand written sales receipt? I was telling someone. 🤔
