Steem generates compound interest. Just by buying Steem Power and holding it, you get more Steem. The only problem with Steem is the price of the actual Steem is trending in the wrong direction so even if it's compounding in the right direction it might not matter except for people in really really poor countries where $5 a day is a lot or if we can be sure Steem will have a price stablization at this level and also be around in 50 years.

At least with real estate, we know people will always need places to live.
