One of the arguments for Government, are the benefits you receive. But, do you truly receive benefit from Government? An Organization, whose primary purpose, is to step into the middle of every facet of life and extract value, yet often called a 'Benefit', is debatable. In fact, Government is only one of the often many layers of middleman, of which most of those other middleman layers, are created or enforced by Government itself. So, in some respects, one could say that Government, or that which Owns/Controls the Government, is the KING middleman.
How many intermediaries are between you and your Doctor, between you and your car, between you and driving to work, between you and your food, between you and your house, between you and stocks, between you and your assets, between you and your money in the bank, between you and clean air or water, and between you and Education?
How many various fixed fees, % fees, or fees in the form of a tax are there? How many Agent fees, Broker fees, Title fees, Mandatory Insurance fees, Loan Fees, Recording fees, License fees, Registration fees, Permit fees, Professional fees, and Testing fees are there? With FIAT, there are other forms of fees with carefully controlled deflation and inflation. Not to mention Interest Rates where a Bank doesn't even loan you money, but gets back 3X the amount you didn't borrow from it and is enforced by the Legal leg of the King Intermediary and occasional the King Intermediaries Henchmen.
The world is going bankrupt by basic math. You have a Producer, Consumer and Intermediaries. The more intermediation between the Producer and Consumer, than the more products cost the consumer and the less producers make. This happens until one day, we realize that there is nothing left over, and the nation collapses.
THE PROBLEM: Protection - is relentlessly talked about by every major media propaganda outlet, by nearly every government agent and an element of so many Hollywood videos, and goes something like this "Who protects the Producer and Consumer from each other?"
THE SOLUTION: Bitcoin and the Blockchain, followed by Ethereum and Smart Contracts, and finally followed by Disintermediation applications.
Steem is great form of Disintermediation. How many Intermediaries, in the form of Information or News Gate Keepers are there with legacy systems? How many fees and taxes between the Content Producer and Content Consumer are there with legacy systems?
Disintermediation is peaceful Anarchy, with a nicer sounding name.
