Finding happiness does not mean getting everything you want, but appreciating everything you get. If you set goals impossible to reach you will be more exposed to failure, unlike those who set themselves to more modest goals.
A young man was talking to a friend:
- So, you never thought about getting married?
"I did," said the young man. In my youth I resolved to look for a perfect woman. I crossed the desert, I came to a great city, and I met a very spiritual and beautiful woman; but she knew nothing of the things of this world. I continued traveling and went to another city; there I met a woman who knew the realm of matter and spirit, but she was not pretty. I kept looking; a good day I dined at the house of a pretty woman, religious and knowledgeable of material reality.
"And why did not you marry her?" - Unfortunately she also wanted a perfect man.
I am wiser than this man; it is possible that neither of us knows anything worthwhile, but he thinks he knows something despite not knowing it; while I, as well as I know nothing, I do not think I know. I am not aware of knowing anything.
