The river dreamed of the sky, but not of having it inside as a reflection, no, it dreamed of flowing towards it like a kind of reverse rain, crossing the clouds and reaching as high as possible. But he felt trapped in its channel and in its currents, which took him again and again through mountainous regions and it seemed that it would be like that for the rest of eternity.

One afternoon, a bongo boat crossing the river was caught by a log, which struck her and caused her to sink; the passengers swam to the shore, and only a woman who could not swim and who, moreover, had lost all sense of wonder in her life, resigned herself to drowning. The strange thing, to the fellow passengers, was that the river pulled the woman back to shore.

The woman did not know what the miracle of being alive was due to, but something had changed for her; she was convinced that it was not yet her time to leave this world; and because she needed answers, she began to visit the river every afternoon. At first she was not sure what to do there, what to say to it, how to thank it; then she just sat and admired it, it was the river and her; her and the river; the river in her eyes and her in the reflection of the river, and so they stayed like that for weeks until one day the unexpected happened...

**

In the midst of contemplation she saw that the river was beckoning her to enter its waters, with slow and sure movements she approached the shore, she felt the cold water running between her feet and a sense of peace and confidence invaded her, with her hands she made a bowl, collected the water and washed her face, again and again feeling the soft smell of fresh water that slid in free fall through her body.

She continued advancing towards the center of the river that with its infinite lullaby called her, there she sunk her body, at the moment she felt a warm embrace, deep, the embrace of the friend, of the father, she embraced that force feeling that she loved, that she was the mother, the daughter, the woman, the friend and she heard a soft whisper that told her:

-You are welcome, let's go to heaven together.

They separated, only their hands were linked to begin a joyful journey, she marveled because she was ethereal, free, merged with the river, flowed with him. Suddenly, the river felt a slight tug, when he reacted he realized that he was floating on it, his being laughed, however a great satisfaction.

She guided him and from the top he could observe who he was, how he crossed the slopes and how the human, animal and vegetable world made life in his environment, that filled him with pride, but not with arrogance, he saw how important he was for others, little by little he understood the reason of his existence, the reason of being inside a riverbed, the farther they moved away from his known space he found others like him that bathed the spaces without borders.

From the highest point he observed the planet, he was amazed, he was part of the abundance of the world. Entering a cloud, astonished, he realized that the cloud was his essence, it was water. She, like a good teacher, explained to him that the sun with its heat transformed it into steam and that when it rose, the cold of the atmosphere turned it back into water and thus returned to the earth, to its bed, then the river understood that it was part of a cycle of life. At that moment it realized that it was part of a whole and felt one with the universe.

For her part, Ella, seeing and feeling Rio's emotions, embraced her life, she had understood why she did not drown the day of the accident, she still had much to give in her world.

Looking into each other's eyes, without uttering words, both decided to return to what they were and with a feeling of fullness and serenity, very slowly, they descended in search of their bodies.
