Smaller than you've ever been before 🐜

One of the recent additions to the PS Plus Extra/Premium game catalog for December 2023 is none other than the colorful indie title called Tinykin. This game looked quirky and cool to me, but I had no idea that I was about to love it so much that I would spend 10 hours earning the platinum trophy.

Tinykin is a puzzle-platform video game developed by Splashteam and published by tinyBuild. It was released on August 30, 2022, for Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

In Tinykin, Milo arrives on Earth to find that he’s way too small, everybody’s gone and a day hasn’t passed since 1991! Team up with the mysterious tinykin and use their unique powers to create ladders, bridges, explosions, and a lot more. Find a way home through a sprawling ant-sized metropolis, and unravel Earth’s biggest mystery.

One of the best parts about this game is being so tiny and everything else in your world seems so large. It brings me back to some of my favorite childhood gaming memories of playing titles such as Toy Story or Ratatouille. If you're like me and for some reason love bouncing on giant cheeseburgers, then you'll fall in love with what Tinykin has to offer.

This isn't a super long or difficult game, but it does offer 10-15 hours of fun exploration and creative puzzle-solving. There is no combat in this game, but it's far from boring as you can still die from hazards, rest assured you will respawn instantly and not have to replay entire levels like some games.

Tinykin may be one of the best games for obsessive-completionists. I couldn't help but find every last piece of pollen and uncover all the secrets in each of the 7 distinctly different levels located throughout the house in which this game takes place.

If you have access to Tinykin, then I highly recommend you check it out. It's a great change of pace if you're just looking for something chill that challenges your memory and problem-solving skills. It's great for adults and kids both.
