My 26th Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒

This past week was back to low hours and earnings. I had a few solid days, but many were spent sitting at home in anticipation of receiving an order.

I plan on doing a weekly Instacart Financial Report like this one, so if you enjoy this kind of content be sure to follow me if you aren't already doing so.

I'm going to be breaking down each day of work individually. Luckily, the Instacart Shopper app makes that extremely easy to do. Let's go ahead and get things started.

Monday, July 3rd

I really thought that the day before July 4th would be very busy. That was not the case. There were orders, but most of them were total shit tips.

I made about 21.71/hr on this day.

The only order of the day that I took was supposed to be an easy one. Then right as I was checking out my customer told me that they no longer wanted milk and needed me to add Cheetos. Usually, that's no problem, annoying because it was last minute, but not a problem. However, this time the app was not functioning correctly and I spent about 20 minutes trying to get support to help me. They never actually assisted me and I just went through and paid for the order like the Cheetos were the milk. It all turned out okay, but I wasted a bunch of time on an order that wasn't even high-paying.

After that, there were no more orders and I decided to call it quits and shop for myself instead. Then I went home and did laundry. I planned to take Tuesday off to celebrate Independence Day with some friends.

Tuesday, July 4th

No work because it was a holiday.

Wednesday, July 5th

Thursday, July 6th

No orders = no work

Friday, July 7th

I got to work some on Friday, what do you know, right? I wasn't overflowing with orders, but all of them were fairly small and had very low mileage. These are two of the biggest factors for accepting an order in my book. The tip too of course, but that's a given.

I made about $55/hr on this day.

That last order I did was a house less than a mile from the store and the shop took me only 20 minutes. In total, it was about 30 minutes and I earned a sold $33.71 from it. I wasn't ready to end the day after that, but sadly never got another order so I just went home to cook dinner.

Saturday, July 8th

Saturday was quite a long day. I woke up early to go pick up my brother and his fiancé so that I could drive them 60 miles to the airport for their beach trip. This took 2.5 hours out of my morning, but still left me plenty of time to do some Instacart.

I made about $63.71/hr on this day.

There was obviously one order that boosted my earnings tremendously. It was one of my regular customers and he is such a nice older gentleman. He always meets me outside to help carry the groceries to his porch and we chit-chat. He had already left me a $45 tip, but a few hours later I saw that he pumped it up even higher to $50. I thank him every time, but I'm not sure he fully understands just how helpful his tips are to me. Without his order, I'd have barely had earnings on Saturday.

Sunday, July 9th

I got an extremely late start on Sunday due to various reasons. I wasn't sure I'd be able to work any at all, but thankfully I got to for a few hours so I could end this week somewhat strong.

I made about $30.74/hr on this day.

Neither one of my orders was particularly great. The tips were slightly above average and both were 50+ item orders. I typically don't accept orders that big, but I was pretty desperate to get some work in, even if that meant a lower hourly rate.

End of week hours and pay 🤑

week26.jpg

My weekly pay was close to $250 and I worked nearly 6 hours.

I made about $43.86/hr on average this past week.

I have two more weeks to work before I will have to take a week off for a beach vacation with my family.

Doing it again next week 👀

Although this week was down in comparison to last week, I am glad I still was able to earn some. Every little bit is going to count this month since I will be taking 7 days off in a row soon.

I hope you have enjoyed this insider look at what kind of pay is possible while working for Instacart.
