It’s crazy to think it has now been a dozen years since the idea of Bitcoin was released to the world.
The whitepaper was released in October 31st, 2008 by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto and was titled Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. To this day few if anyone at all actually know Satoshi Nakmoto’s true identity.
Some consider the release of the whitepaper as Bitcoin’s birthday and others say that the genesis block on January 3rd, 2009 is the true birthday. Both dates are extremely significant to the world, whether we all realize that yet or not. The creation of the first blockchain has already changed finance and much more forever.
You would think that after 12 years the whole world would have adopted Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general as our main method of transaction. I mean it just makes sense for this to happen considering how our world is growing. Sadly the future takes much longer to become a reality. 12 years is not long at all when you take into consideration the amount of time life has been here on Earth.
History spans over many thousands of years and there has been countless different amounts of currencies over the many different periods of life. For instance the first form of currency was actually the aurochs, which is what we know today as cattle/cows. The original cattle is vastly different from the cows we have on farms today. Things always change, plus that’s just one of a ton of different forms of currencies.
I think it’s undoubtably true that cryptocurrencies will become what the world uses to solidify trades between one another. We are becoming more and more reliant on technology, there is no turning back at this point. It may seem funny to think at times, but there is almost no other direction for money to go except towards a technological evolution.
Bitcoin was the first step in that direction. Just like with the aurochs/cattle, the digital currencies will constantly be shifting into a new revolution of its original self. One thing is for certain, we will always have Satoshi Nakamoto and Bitcoin as the unforgettable conception of the future of wealth and monetary transactions.
