Last Summer I visited & camped in the Kosciuszko National Park here in the Australian Alps for the first time. After that trip, I found out that the majority of the images I took were out of focus. Aside from frustration the thought ‘what if I went back & what would it look like in snow’ popped into my mind.
I picked a date in Winter & focused everything I had on learning how to camp in the snow, how to survive if there was a whiteout & how to navigate backcountry hiking off the trail.
I went with a group & we couldn’t have picked a better date - dodging two storm cells both a week prior/after the date & right after there had been a dump of snow. It was cold though at -8°C. We ended up stacking sheets of ice & the tents against each other to create a wind barrier at night.
There’s something I personally find that happens when I push myself to my limits, it’s like a Mario Kart speed boost for my creativity
And to top it off the shots this time were in focus - including this one a Tor rock structure.
