So who wants to be a millionaire? Really, it's a stupid question. Other than billionaires (who would obviously be going backwards), who wouldn't want to be a millionaire. In fact, at the rate things are going, being a "millionaire" might not be enough. But it still seems like it would make life a lot easier. For most of us, it would be an incredible relief to see an actual "balance" in our checking accounts that wasn't hovering near zero every month. And to have it still full of money after all the bills are paid? That would be crazy.
This phrase is also the name of a game show from the early 2000's which was a hit in many living rooms around the world. Contestants started with easy questions worth a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, and quickly built their way up to harder questions worth tens of thousands and ultimately a million dollars. It was an easy game to play along with at home and they were pretty good at building the drama. Good times. lol
This got me to thinking of ways to get there, besides winning the game, that is.
- There's the lottery, of course. Better odds of getting struck by lightning.
- You could inherit from a rich uncle. That also seems highly unlikely unless you have lots of uncles and no siblings or cousins.
- There's the stock market. That one takes money to make money. And, of course, you'd have to find your way around the manipulation the legacy banking industry does to hopefully make your money while they're not looking.
- You could build and run your own business. This one actually has the most potential of anything else we can do. It will take a good idea, some planning, and a lot of work, but it is certainly a realistic way someone could become a millionaire.
- You could be a drug dealer, although being a millionaire doesn't seem like it would do you much good if your were dead or in jail. Definitely don't recommend this one.
- You could get a job at a big company, work your way up the corporate ladder, and actually get to a point where you could save and invest every month to help get you to millionaire status. This is another very good option but you probably should start in your early 20s if possible. Too late for me. 馃檪
Which brings me to the way I'm trying to get there.
Hive.
I believe this is a way I didn't mention above.
- Get in on the ground floor of a great idea, build a stake, and then help that idea become a universal success.
That's what I think Hive is. It's a ground floor opportunity for those of us who see it to build a business, build a stake, and ultimately grow it into a global success story. There's no question it will take some work and it will take some time, but it is accessible to everyone and it could be a lot closer than we think.
Let's do some numbers. Here is where it gets interesting.
How much $HIVE would you have to own to be a "millionaire" if Hive traded at a dollar? A million, obviously. But what if it went to five dollars? 200,000. Still a lot. Well how about $10? Now we're down to 100,000. Getting closer. At $20 you'd need 50,000 Hive. That's not even Orca status. That is definitely something almost everyone here could reach if they put their minds to it. At $50 you'd only need 20,000 $HIVE and at $100 just 10,000.
Will Hive go to $100? I don't know. But stranger things have happened. I also know that there are many other things that have traded that high that are not worth anywhere near what Hive is worth in terms of the value it brings to the world.
Now the exciting part: 10,000 $HIVE right now would cost less than $3000. Hive is currently trading for less than 30 cents and we can earn it for free. All it takes is some time and some effort and we can begin building a stake that could ultimately give us the financial freedom to not sweat the day-to-day stuff.
Right now we are light years ahead of where we were just a couple years ago in terms of the building taking place. The infrastructure has improved exponentially and continues to do so thanks to some dedicated developers behind the scenes. Plus, there are many more communities and dApps built on top of Hive that continue to add more and more value literally on a weekly basis. At some point, the "secret" will get out. As I've said before, quality rises. It may not be recognized for what it is early in the game, but it eventually comes to the forefront and is rewarded for what it actually is.
That's what I think will happen with Hive. Slow, slow, slow, fast. It will continue to percolate under the surface building and growing and becoming more and more robust until one day, the right people will finally see the light and BAM! off it goes. In my opinion, there is just too much value here for it to remain a secret for much longer.
And we can get in on the ground floor.
So, instead of looking at every $HIVE you earn as another 26 cents, think about it as another $5? $10? $20? That's what I do. Every $HIVE is another $10 in my mind. That's the number I'm working off in my head. I want to get to 100,000 so I can be a "millionaire" at $10. I firmly believe we're going to get there one day and NOW is the time to be building my stack. It's much easier to earn $HIVE at 26 cents than it is at a dollar. Just keep stacking. Hive is the Way.
