The background is:
I had been reorganizing the folders in my dropbox and stumbled upon a collection of vintage photographs of my moms. I few years back I had scanned a box of pictures that she had so that we would have a digital back up copy. The feeling I got when I opened the folder was similar to the feeling you get when you open up the box in the corner of the basement. What treasures lie inside! My Uncle on my dads side was a bit of an amateur photographer. I cant remember a family gathering when he didnt have a camera out. I only have a few photos of my grandparents on my dads side but the one I am sharing today is a great one.
This image was taken at Christmas. On Christmas eve, my dad and his three other siblings would all head over to grandma and grandpas house for a large Christmas eve dinner followed by the unlimited opening of presents. There were so many of us that we all couldn't eat at once. All the children would sit down and eat first. Next the parents would take over the dining room as the kids ran in every ten of fifteen minutes to ask if it was time to open up the gifts.
To this day anytime the cousins get together, the memories created at Christmas are the ones that are brought up the most.
This picture just reminds me of all these great moments.
I hope you enjoy it as must as I do.
