I think they used BTC as a means of advertising the tournament as BTC makes the most noise if you say the top team can win 1 or almost 1 BTC it might get a lot of heads turning, i mean look at the Halo tournaments offering cash prizes a while back it got people playing more halo 4 for a period of time.
