Do you love Mondays? Guess your answer will be No, if you don’t like what you do with the first day of your week. Better still, you don’t love your job, which is one major reason people hate Mondays. I will be highlighting some reason why people don’t scream #thankGoditsMonday.
Your Job doesn’t Fascinate you
A research conducted by Gallup poll, it was revealed that 70% of most individuals hate, or at best are ‘totally dismembered’ from their job. I listened to a psychiatrist and a career coach on a radio program, called the cool night café and he said “ the ability to feel depression and anxiety can start on Sunday night, leading to an unproductive Monday. That could be the reason why most people face queries at work, just because of the attitude they brought to work on Monday.Lack of Monday preparation
A popular quotes state, ‘’if you fail to prepare, then you are prepared to fail’’. Most people detest feeling overwhelmed, and yet they don’t realize they are the architect of their own misfortune. Mondays can be stressing and sometimes overwhelming if you do not take Sunday to lay your bed, so you can lie on a well laid bed throughout the week. Reason why most people choose not to do this is because whatever it is they're doing isn't appealing to them.Following the Bandwagon
The way other people see things, over time begins to cloud how we also perceive those things on the long run. It is quite easy to dislike what other people dislike also. It is quite a hard task to be optimistic when those around you aren’t. you get to work and ask barry how his weekend was, he replied "Too short. Can't believe its Monday. I hate Mondays."
Another weekend is far off
The feeling and thoughts of having to re-live the same routine for the next five working days gives most people headache. Because they have to wake up early, go to work, probably not eat until later in the day, can be tiring and this can make one despise Mondays.Weekend hangover
An average weekend could be spent wining and dining or smoking more than normal .these activities have physical effect on people, which may be why one study found that American women of all ages and locations feel least attractive on Mondays (http://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity-lifestyle/articles/monday-worst-day.Emotional change
Mondays are no more overwhelming or depressing than any other day of the week according to what scientist have discovered when they ask people to record their emotions at regular intervals. Friday is always ahead only because people are anticipating the weekend. Besides that, no day is less terrible. But when you try to enquire from people if they remember which day of the week was worse, they will always say Monday. This bores down to the fact that there is a bigger emotional shift from Sunday( a happy weekend day) to Monday (a work day) than there is between two work days.( http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/14/opinion/sunday/blue-mondays-arent-really-blue-so-why-do-we-think-they-are.html?_r=0)
So no matter what, Monday will always be seen as the worst day of the week.Sleeping model
According to scientist , the extra sleep just makes you extra fatigue at the beginning of the week, which makes it more difficult to rise up on Monday morning.(http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/heres-why-you-hate-mondays/2006/10/06/1159641511693.html). Even when you think you are well rested, since you had enough sleep over the weekend, you might not know you have altered your sleeping model, which can in turn have a negative impact on Monday.Your health
Most people are psychologically and also physically unhealthy on Mondays, your blood pressure is always almost higher on Monday, which might be a chance to fall ill generally.
Scientists have found that even people who generally maintain their weight weigh the most at the beginning of the week. Mondays are also the most common day for people to suffer heart attacks and strokes (http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/04/mondays-for-your-health/360692/)Monday means reliving the previous week
This point straight to our norm of chasing rewards as "means to an end." Because seeing every week as a sprint, and you endure it with hopes that one day you'll be "done" and you can finally go on a holiday to " enjoy it and relax," that is a wrong way of doing it. You're missing the entire journey. You are chasing the wind. Fulfilment is found along the way, not in a treasure chest at the end of the rainbow. The End and the beginning
Mondays mark the end of one life and the beginning of the next. If your life is weekend dependent then a Monday is the door shutting on your 48 hours of enjoyment, and that's a pretty substantial indicator you are living double lives. One life is based on how you make ends meet while the other life is what you do for personal leisure. There is always a constant war to balance the two lives. Otherwise you will never find fulfillment with your work.
