Zero-sum
__________

There is more to mine than block rewards;
in this life are treasures rarer still
than any digits, any stack of coins,
any tracts of real estate or deals
made binding by the signing of a sheet.

What will cause the mind to feel complete,
the soul to rest, the weary hands to pause,
but love in its high sense with its soft bliss
that visits when the truth, surrendered to
is let to lay its adamantine claws
into the veil of false and empty gain?
