Hello Leos and Hivers! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Long time no see! It has been two plus years since I last posted here. Life got busy, the bear market got boring, and honestly I ran out of things to say that were worth saying. But today something pulled me back โ€” and fittingly, it is a Cosmos ecosystem story, just like the old days. ๐Ÿ˜„

I have held some $AKT since the early days back when I was just farming Cosmos ecosystem tokens for fun.

For a long time, I honestly forgot about it.

Then recently in early 2026, Akash launched the Burn-Mint Equilibrium (BME) hard fork โ€” and it is genuinely one of the more elegant tokenomics fixes I have seen in a while.

Here is the simple version of what changed:
Previously, tenants could pay for GPU compute using stablecoins (USDC etc.). Great for users, bad for $AKT โ€” nobody needed to buy it. The team fixed this with BME:

You burn AKT โ†’ get ACT (a USD-pegged compute credit) โ†’ spend ACT on workloads โ†’ ACT burns โ†’ providers receive freshly minted AKT

Every dollar of compute = AKT gets bought from the market and burned. Usage directly drives scarcity. No fake buybacks, no governance theater.

And the usage is real. $5 million in compute spend in Q1 2026 โ€” an all-time high for the network. AkashML is now processing 1.7 billion tokens daily on OpenRouter. Razer ran an actual product campaign on it.
I am not going to tell you what the price will do. But the mechanism is clean, the numbers are going up, and for once I am actually watching my old bag with interest instead of forgetting the wallet password. ๐Ÿ˜„
