Mary's Church has a standing law that no matter what, if anyone is found in a dirty relationship, there won't be any wedding for that person, be it the man or the woman.
Mary related this to Austin, her fiance, at the start of their relationship and Austin agreed to play with it because he sincerely love Mary.
A few weeks before their wedding fixed date, the irresistible force held them, and they regrettably bowed to it.
"Did it just happen? I can't believe it," Mary said regretfully while lying in bed.
"I can't believe it either. We just lost it in a few weeks before our wedding. We've been keeping it for our wedding day," Austin added.
"It seems you're not getting it; since we've had sex before the marriage, our wedding is canceled. Are you not getting the fact at all?" Mary said with teary eyes.
Austin shifted close to her and placed his arm around her shoulder, saying, "Baby, I love you, and we'll get married, nobody is stopping us."
"By the way, how would they know if we had sex when we didn't tell anyone? Is there a machine to detect that or is your pastor a prophet that sees such in someone's eyes?"
"I don't know how the pastor gets to know, but I heard that he has a way of finding out during the last interview between the potential couples and him," Mary said.
"Okay, this is what we'll do; if he asks us about having sex, we'll say NO. If we stood our ground, he wouldn't know." Austin smartly added the code to use during the interview.
They both agreed to play along with the suggested plan by Austin.
They continued with their wedding preparations, printing invitation cards, settling bills for food and drinks, and inviting everyone. Meanwhile, their wedding had already been announced in Mary's church.
The day for the interview with the pastor came, they woke up early and did their routine before leaving for the pastor's office. On their way, while in the car, Mary asked to be assured of what they'd agreed on.
"Honey, please let's stick to what we agreed on. No matter what, don't say YES. If you do, that means our wedding is over."
Austin smiled and said, "I should be begging you on that because you're a lady and ladies' souls are soft, they know how to fidget on things like this."
"No, my mind is crossed on this," Mary assured him.
They got there, and the pastor welcomed them in and took them to the interview quarter, an office attached to the halls's block.
The pastor began the interview, and at the verge of it, he threw the punch: "Have you guys met in bed before now?"
"No!" They both echoed, and the pastor smiled.
"Okay, sometimes ago, two couples like both of you came for an interview, and I threw this question at them, they both lied, and you know what happened?" The pastor paused and expected them to answer his last question, but Austin and Mary shook their heads in a way of saying they don't know what happened.
"Alright, after they got married, for just three days, the man slept and didn't wake up. The wife had to come confessing that they lied to me when they came for an interview," the pastor conclude, still smiling at both of them and looking at their eyeballs.
When Austin and Mary heard the outcome of the couples that lied, they became scared but tried to hide that from their reactions. They looked at each other and...
Austin knelt down and began to beg the pastor for forgiveness for lying to him. Mary got angry at why Austin would be so soft, not being able to withstand the test from the pastor.
"Honey, I can't believe you're doing this. At first, you were the one that initiated the s3x move that night and you initiated that we should lie to the pastor, now look at how you've messed up everything," Mary said in tears.
Well, at this point, you know what my judgment would be.
"We can't break the law for any reason." The pastor said and walked out of the office, leaving them to make peace with themselves.
That's how the marriage was canceled, just a week before the wedding. What a waste of time, love, and resources.
