It is very important to remember God's faithfulness, how do we do it?

10 And Joshua added: In this you will know that the living God is among you, and that he will drive out before you the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite and the Jebusite. 11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will pass before you into the midst of the Jordan. 12 Now therefore take twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. 13 And when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the Lord, Lord of all the earth, rest on the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be divided; for the waters that come down from above will stand in one heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 when they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped at the brim of the water (for the Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest), 16 that the waters which came down from above stood upon an heap a great way off the city of Adam, which is beside Zaretan; and that which came down to the Sea of the Arabah, even to the Salt Sea, ceased, and was divided; and the people passed over toward Jericho. 17 But the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood upon dry land in the midst of the Jordan, until all the people had made an end of passing over the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry land. 4 When all the people had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying, 2 “Take twelve men from the people, one from each tribe, 3 and command them, ‘Take from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet stand, twelve stones, and you shall carry them over with you, and set them up at the place where you are to spend the night. 4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from among the children of Israel, one from each tribe. 5 And Joshua said to them, ‘Cross before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, 6 so that it may be a sign among you; and when your children ask their fathers in time to come, ‘What do these stones mean? ’ 7 you shall say to them, ‘The waters of the Jordan were divided before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. ’ When she crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were divided; and these stones will serve as a memorial to the children of Israel forever.
8 And the children of Israel did as Joshua commanded them: they took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, as the Lord had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and they carried them to the place where they camped, and set them up there.

Joshua 3:10-4:8

Let's think about the following: when there is an anniversary, a birthday of someone dear or similar dates we tend to remember it easily, but what we do tend to forget is the goodness of God in our favor, the text that we have read previously invites us to remember the goodness of God.

In this picture we see that after the people of God left Egypt in the best conditions and after crossing the Red Sea, God allowed them to cross the Jordan on dry land. He knew that the people of Israel were about to enter Jericho and God would help them win. All of this is an illustrative picture of the power of God in favor of his people. God shows his presence with his people. And with that miracle, God makes himself present, knowing that previously his people had forgotten him.

God wanted his people to remember him, to remember the miracle he had performed by opening the waters as a demonstration of his care for his people. At that moment, God told them to make a monument to remind them of that fact, what a construction with 12 stones and each one representing each one of the tribe and in this way Israel would remember forever that God had helped them cross the waters, thus remembering God's divine rescue for his people forever.

you will say to them, The waters of the Jordan were divided before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were divided; and these stones will be a memorial to the children of Israel forever.

Joshua 4:7

Is there any difference between the people of Israel and us? Ultimately we are very similar, over time we forget what God has done for us, we forget the goodness of God until at some point we need God.

That is why it is of utmost importance that we take a moment to reflect on the goodness of God in our lives, that God is not only the person to whom we present our list of requests, let us remember and bring to the present the miracles and the participation of God in our lives.

Es muy importante recordar la fidelidad de Dios, ¿cómo lo hacemos?.

10 Y añadió Josué: En esto conoceréis que el Dios viviente está en medio de vosotros, y que él echará de delante de vosotros al cananeo, al heteo, al heveo, al ferezeo, al gergeseo, al amorreo y al jebuseo. 11 He aquí, el arca del pacto del Señor de toda la tierra pasará delante de vosotros en medio del Jordán. 12 Tomad, pues, ahora doce hombres de las tribus de Israel, uno de cada tribu. 13 Y cuando las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes que llevan el arca de Jehová, Señor de toda la tierra, se asienten en las aguas del Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se dividirán; porque las aguas que vienen de arriba se detendrán en un montón.
14 Y aconteció cuando partió el pueblo de sus tiendas para pasar el Jordán, con los sacerdotes delante del pueblo llevando el arca del pacto, 15 cuando los que llevaban el arca entraron en el Jordán, y los pies de los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca fueron mojados a la orilla del agua (porque el Jordán suele desbordarse por todas sus orillas todo el tiempo de la siega), 16 las aguas que venían de arriba se detuvieron como en un montón bien lejos de la ciudad de Adam, que está al lado de Saretán, y las que descendían al mar del Arabá, al Mar Salado, se acabaron, y fueron divididas; y el pueblo pasó en dirección de Jericó. 17 Mas los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, estuvieron en seco, firmes en medio del Jordán, hasta que todo el pueblo hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán; y todo Israel pasó en seco.
Las doce piedras tomadas del Jordán
4 Cuando toda la gente hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán, Jehová habló a Josué, diciendo: 2 Tomad del pueblo doce hombres, uno de cada tribu, 3 y mandadles, diciendo: Tomad de aquí de en medio del Jordán, del lugar donde están firmes los pies de los sacerdotes, doce piedras, las cuales pasaréis con vosotros, y levantadlas en el lugar donde habéis de pasar la noche. 4 Entonces Josué llamó a los doce hombres a los cuales él había designado de entre los hijos de Israel, uno de cada tribu. 5 Y les dijo Josué: Pasad delante del arca de Jehová vuestro Dios a la mitad del Jordán, y cada uno de vosotros tome una piedra sobre su hombro, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, 6 para que esto sea señal entre vosotros; y cuando vuestros hijos preguntaren a sus padres mañana, diciendo: ¿Qué significan estas piedras? 7 les responderéis: Que las aguas del Jordán fueron divididas delante del arca del pacto de Jehová; cuando ella pasó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se dividieron; y estas piedras servirán de monumento conmemorativo a los hijos de Israel para siempre.
8 Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así como Josué les mandó: tomaron doce piedras de en medio del Jordán, como Jehová lo había dicho a Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, y las pasaron al lugar donde acamparon, y las levantaron allí.

Josué 3:10-4:8

Pensemos en lo siguiente: cuando hay un aniversario, un cumpleaños de alguien querido o fechas similares tendemos a recordarlo fácilmente, pero lo que sí tenemos olvidar es la bondad de Dios a nuestro favor, el texto que hemos leído anteriormente nos invita a que recordemos la bondad de Dios.

En este cuadro vemos que luego de que el pueblo de Dios salida de Egipto en las más óptimas condiciones y después de cruzar el mar rojo Dios les permitió cruzar el Jordán en seco, sabía que el pueblo de Israel estaba apoco de entrar en Jericó y Dios les ayudaría a vencer, todo esto es un cuadro ilustrativo del poder de Dios a favor de su pueblo, Dios muestra su presencia junto a su pueblo Y con eso de milagro Dios se hace presente sabiendo que anteriormente su pueblo se había olvidado de él.

Dios quería que su pueblo se acuerde de él, que se acuerde del milagro que había realizado al abrir las aguas como una demostración de su cuidado hacia su pueblo, en ese momento Dios les dijo que hagan un monumento que les recuerde ese hecho, qué construcción con 12 piedras y cada uno represente a cada uno de la tribu y de esta manera Israel recordaría por siempre que Dios les había ayudado a atravesar las aguas recordando así el rescate divino de Dios por su pueblo para siempre.
